Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Are you ready for QTS?
The Assessment Based Option (ABO) Route to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is intended for experienced, but unqualified teachers with a minimum of two years teaching experience. This route expects teachers to have developed at least some teaching skills through experience of teaching. Unlike traditional routes such as the PGCE, it will not support you through direct training. Your current school should encourage the development of teaching skills through support and guidance.
AMS Support
AMS UK hopes, Insha’Allah, to support 20 candidates through the ABO route in each academic year. This support will be provided on the availability of funding each year. The support will come in the form of a SIP Mentor who will assist the candidate for up to four days at their school.
Criteria
